Dear Selatra,

First and foremost, I would like to thank the committee who organized the camp and also every single one of you who attended and participated in the Annual Silat Camp 2010. The camp will be nothing, without all of you. As this saying goes, "the more we sweat in training, the less we bleed in battle". I am proud of EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU. Everyone pulled through except one due to a bad injury. That is the kind of thing we never wish to happen. The lesson to be learned from that will be to always be careful when we do anything and take care of oneself and others.

I hope for those who attended the camp, you will inform those who didn't attend the camp what you have gone through. Those good and bad...

Although it was a short 2 day(s) 1 night camp, I can see that every one is shagged in the end. From that I can say, everyone has put in their best and is determined to fight for a place.

In conjunction with the Annual Silat Camp 2010, we have selected our new Silat Management/Training Committee. We already have our President and Vice President and so we need the rest of the supporting committee to keep this team running.

I hope all of you are studying smart for your UT3. Here are some updates that I think all of you need to know.

1. As you all know, there will be a Silat Camp held on 23rd and 24th of February. It is a COMPULSORY camp because from there we are able to choose the person who is FIT to play for TSC 2010.

2. There will be a friendly match against Singapore Polytechnic on the 24th Feb. Yes it is held on the day we are having our silat camp. Are you FIT enough and are you prepared for this friendly? Ask yourself. You should know yourself better. We are left with 21 days to friendly guys and girls. No time to play a fool and let's get down to serious business starting from now!

That's all. I hope to see all your handsome and pretty faces after UT3 ends.

There are a few important things that I have to tell all of you. So open your eyes and read every single word that is being written and take it down if you need to.

1. There will not be any training on the following dates: 2nd Feb, 3rd Feb, 4th Feb, 8th Feb, 9th Feb, 11th Feb, 13th Feb and during the Chinese New Year Period.

2. There will be training this coming Saturday, 6th Feb 2010. Time is from 2pm to 6pm. Attendance is COMPULSORY! You are required to bring your swimming attire, full uniform, water bottle and towel. There will be WATER TRAINING on that day.

4. For those who are holding on to the coloured uniform, please return it back by the end of this week. You can pass it to Farhan Rani, Luqman, Farah or myself.

5. Payment for silat uniform are to be made by the end of this week. Those who have bought the uniform but have not pay, kindly pass the money to me or Farhan Rani.

Hello Selatra.

Officially training for this semester has come to a close on the 10th of September 2009.

First of all,Great job to those who have perform in the PPP just now, i really enjoyed the show and I believe everyone did. Now we really know who to be more wary of be it crazy people and especialy rapist.

hope u guys enjoying the weekend coz the training is not going to get any relax so rest and enjoy as much as possible this long weekend. There will be training on monday at 5pm SHARP. PLEASE dun be late guys. EVERYONE will be required to wear shoes. please remind your friends also. SHOES are a must. without shoes you won't participate in training and will be considered absent without valid reason.

2nd thing, please bring the forms for those of you who have not given it to me yet. For those who have not receive the form, please download the attachment and get your parents to sign it. If your older than me, than you don;t have to get your parents signature coz i still young. haha.

3rd thing, the year ones will be participating in tuesday training as an introduction to them and also get to know session. therefore i hope that the full squad could attend training so as not to make us look pathetic with little members. There will be a sparring session on tuesday to get more year ones to join tanding especially the gals so be prepared ppl.

4th thing and very important thing, please don't forget to bring your themometer on monday if not you will be fined by the school. Even though MOST of us dun eat swine, the still scared we got swine flu. Rather than u give the school money because you lazy to bring themometer might as well you give me so you know your money wont go to waste.

Ok enuf of crappy stuffs, hope all of you will attend training on mon at least we can prepare for the year 1 welcoming since PPP is over hope that everyone can now commit to silat. sorry for the long email, i very bored ah got nothing to do.

Hi All

As most of you know, Tertiary Silat Championship (TSC) or some of u call it IVP is on the 22nd - 24th May & 5,6 June. Due to the insufficient training, I have decided to increase the training days. It will be on MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY & SATURDAY. Monday & Tuesday will be emphasising in olahraga. While on thurs & sat will be Cik Mail training as per normal.

On Monday, EVERYONE is required to bring shoes. There will be sparring on most monday as well. so bring your groin guards as well and all the essential guards.

I would like to remind you guys again, for those who cannot attend trainings due to valid reasons, you are REQUIRED to submit an email to any of the heads regarding your absence. So far, 3 persilat have done that, i hope the rest can follow through. To anyone i have missed out in the mail please forward to them.

Another issue, we are making a team t-shirt, courtesy of Shazwan design. The cost of the t-shirt will be between 12-15 bucks. So for those who have issues in paying a lump sum, please pay installment on every training for example 2 to 5m bucks per training. The rest who are rich, can just pay the whole sum.

Closure of Muslim Prayer Room - W36N

I received this email and I think that I should let every Muslim RP student be aware of this...

Assalamualaikum wr wb

Peace be upon all, everyone. As I share a piece of an unfortunate news through this email, it is my wish that it is to be spread to as many as possible to RP Muslims who often use our prayer room at W36N.

A Technical Support from SEG mailed me via school's webmail whereby our Prayer Room has now turned into a classroom. The slippers and praying mats are all borrowed by him. But the main concern here is; there is no more prayer room for us. I understand how much troublesome for us all to perform our prayers on the landings of the staircase in each of the Block (i.e. W2, W3, E5 etc).

On my part, I've asked the sender of the email if he knows of any empty classroom which we could use as a comfortable place of us to pray in. However, I wish to kill two stones at once by seeking all of your help in finding an empty classroom for the abovementioned purpose (at least even if you do not, I'm just glad you're informed so that you will not trouble yourself to make a detour when you get there).

In the meantime, you could all drop by the second floor of E5; that is where a few of us (especially a few of us from the second years -going to our final year - prayed there a few times, mainly for Zohor). Just bring a compass in case if we lose the Qiblah (there was a praying mat facing it when we prayed there, but I'm unsure if it's still there).

Please do bear with this painful torment that RP is putting us in while at the same time, play your part. Insya'Allah, I hope things will go fine in the upcoming weeks. Wasalam

As you guys know, on Tuesday we will be having our SLA rehearsal in the evening. Therefore, trainings on Tuesday will be brought forward to Monday. It is important for all of you that are interested to participate in the SLA, Competition to come as weight will be taken on that day to consider the weight class assignment.

On another note, Selection of TSC squad will be done very soon therefore please maintain your attendance. For those who have not been coming for the holiday training due to work commitments or whatever reason; i hope you can make your attendance starting since school is reopening next week.

Last but not least, those who can't attend the training, please make a written valid excuse via email to any of the Silat heads PERSONALLY and NOT via someone else to pass the message around. If last year, the peeps from Pentas Karyawan had CINTA (love) as their theme, this year they will be taking on KESENGSARAAN (suffering) for our theme.. Though time is really short (they have only one week to prepare for the theme), they really try to make use of every time that they had..Sampai pergi East Coast buat pantun... Sempat eh... Hehe.. Winks winks..

So yea, they do really need the support from us... Kalau free, sudi-sudi lah hadirkan diri yeee.. Heh..

Date: 16,17,18 February (3 days 2 night)

Venue: Aloha Mahalo Hawaii Pasir Ris

Unit: Sea View Terrace 1

Those who havent pay, please don't forget to pay. And remember, gather at the open space near the aloha loyang at 10 AM. (which is just in front of where we stay and this is the map)

Remember people to gather at 10am! Don't be late.

And... Below are the list of things that you are supposed to bring (as per told by boss):

PT attire minimum of 3 Sets *(clothes might get soiled or dirty. Silat pants preferably)
Shoes(must)
Slippers/sandals
Water bottle ( must)
Sleep wear (must cover up..no half naked for guys and girls cover everything like sniper)
A set of casual clothes(wait u all wanna go home after camp must wear nice nice mah)
1 set of Wet Attire (make sure its allowed in conventional swimming pool…i.e. no soccer shorts for guys etc..)
Undergarments (as much as you thing enough and only wear inside not outside like superman or batman.. :))
Full Silat Attire (Bengkong is a MUST)
Personal utensils (Plate, fork & spoon,chopstick,broomstick ) *NO utensils will be provided for the camp.
Personal Medications (inhalers, panadol, insect repellent, ganja, marijuana, ice, cocain.haha! )
Personal Guards (groin guards, ankle guards mouth guards for those who cannot keep their mouth shut..LOL! etc )
Toiletries( toothbrush, tooth paste, soap, shampoo, facial wash, ketiak wash, klorox etc.. )
Personal Snacks ( Crackers, maggi. Own time own target..bring your own..but if lost dun blame me.. blame the person who eat yr food.. haha)
Last but not least..Things to saboh.. hahaha..all feb birthdays too bad ah.. u all kena….muahahaha.. eeeviiiillll

Venue: NTU Sports & Recreation Centre, Hall 3 along Lien Ying Chow Drive.

Finally, Selatra have a decent blogspot. We shall now update any activities and whatever things here aites?

To start it all.. Let me get the ball rolling with the Selatran's Beach Day Out....

So... The Selatrans had a beach day out on the 9th February 09 @ Changi Beach. Let the pictures do the talking aites.....

Those who were present:

Huda, Feroz, Suhafana, Raihan, Nina, Fir, Umar, Mary, Yana, Fizah, Farhan, Wan, Sam, Asmin, Naz, Azmi, Hafiz

While some of us played card games..

The "Selatran's Aquarium"

We found sea cucumber, sea horse, starfish, sea turtle and many many more.....

Then... After all those time by the sea side, came the birthday cake... And we celebrated Raihan's 21st Birthday and 2 Years Anniversary for the lovely couple...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAIHAN & HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SU & RAIHAN!

And.... We left the beach at around 8 plus, then head to Changi Village for dinner. In which later on.... All of us headed to OCH to do some adventure... Well well well... Am not gonna go into detail on that...... 'Cause am not too sure what happened after that....

And so yeah... Basically... That was the activities that were done during the day.....

And!!! Look this out!!! What a beautiful moon!! I caught it on camera whilst the Selatrans were busy packing.... Nice right???
